DOH: All pregnancy-related deaths due to mental health conditions are preventable

The finding comes from a comprehensive review of 2018 pregnancy-associated deaths in New York state and was highlighted in a brief on perinatal mental health — the first in a series offering recommendations to raise awareness, reduce stigma and provide education on prevention strategies and resources to reduce mental health-related causes of maternal mortality.
