HANYS' Analysis of CMS Proposed Star Ratings Methodology Changes

Description:
CMS proposed changes to the hospital star ratings methodology in the recently released Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) to address concerns expressed by HANYS, other associations and providers regarding scoring. HANYS staff will review the proposed methodology changes, key takeaways for New York State in aggregate, and present a hospital specific report that compares performance under the current and proposed methodologies. HANYS will also outline initial comments on the proposed methodology and open up for discussion of additional comment areas HANYS could consider. Comments are due October 5th.
