June 20
Webinar

Noon - 1 p.m.

Diagnostic errors are a leading cause of professional liability claims against healthcare providers. The care environment, poor documentation, communication errors and implicit bias all contribute to diagnostic errors, leading to patient harm.

During this webinar, we’ll discuss the leading contributing factors for diagnostic errors and offer risk management strategies to minimize the risk of malpractice claims at your organization.

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • identify the leading contributing factors impacting diagnostic error;
  • discuss the impact of implicit bias on medical errors;
  • understand how communication errors impact patient care; and
  • implement risk management strategies to reduce the risk of diagnostic error.

Speaker:

Joyce McCormack, Risk Management Consultant, MLMIC Services, Inc.
