Overview 

HANYS is pursuing an aggressive, multi-faceted Program Integrity agenda to improve the reliability of the Medicare audit process that currently creates inconsistency, unfairness, and a significant administrative burden on providers due to the processing of payment denials and the complex appeals process.

In addition to seeking legislative action, HANYS is urging leaders at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to make improvements to ensure integrity of the Medicare audit programs. HANYS also has an active advocacy, analysis, and educational agenda around other federal and state audit and compliance issues.
