St. Peter's Hospital Goes to Schools to Provide Dental Care to Kids

Youth are at risk in many underserved urban and rural communities because they don't have access to basic and preventive dental care. St. Peter's Hospital uses their Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to improve access to oral care and treatment for children in the Albany area. This program provides complete dental services to more than 1,250 children annually, many of whom would otherwise not have access to dental care.

St. Peter's serves six elementary schools that were chosen because of their high percentage of students eligible for free and reduced cost lunches, indicating that the children served are among the community's poorest.
