HANYS responds to House Energy and Commerce Committee Medicaid proposals
“No patient, provider or community will be healthier if the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Medicaid proposals go into effect. This package will cause a substantial number of New Yorkers who rely on Medicaid to lose their coverage, and it will slash all New Yorkers’ access to care by cutting essential funding for hospitals and other providers. HANYS urges New York’s congressional delegation to reject this bill.” Read HANYS President Bea Grause’s full statement on our website.
Urgent call for advocacy
HANYS urges members to contact your Congress members today to voice your opposition to the budget reconciliation package making its way through the House. The package includes policies that will significantly impact access to health coverage, reduce federal funding to states and cut existing supportive funding mechanisms for hospitals and other providers. Read our Member Update for a full analysis of how this package would impact New York.
