Statement from HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD, on the 2025-2026 state budget
The Healthcare Association of New York State thanks Gov. Hochul and New York’s state legislators for enacting a budget that supports our healthcare system and helps protect New Yorkers’ access to care at hospitals, nursing homes, school-based health clinics and more. Harmful policy changes in Washington are already impacting providers, and the additional federal funding cuts under discussion would put everyone’s care at risk. State policymakers’ healthcare support is essential now and will continue to be in the months ahead. HANYS and our member hospitals and health systems will keep working with our state and federal leaders to protect the funding and programs that support New Yorkers’ healthcare and coverage.
