FDA to Discuss Medical Device Security with HANYS' HIT Strategy Group

HANYS' Health Information Technology (HIT) Strategy Group will be joined by Bakul Patel, Associate Center Director for Digital Health at the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Center for Devices and Radiological Health, for a discussion on medical device security.
Mr. Patel leads regulatory policy and scientific efforts at the Center in areas related to emerging and converging areas of medical devices, wireless, and information technology. This includes responsibilities for mobile health, HIT, cyber security, medical device interoperability, and medical device software.
Mr. Patel will provide insight into the challenges facing medical device security and FDA's role in mitigating cybersecurity risks.
