Top Risks of the Ambulatory Surgery Center

Sept. 25

Noon - 1 p.m.

Registration is open to HANYS Members and Non Members

HANYS and MLMIC will show how to address the malpractice risks associated with ambulatory surgery centers.

Ambulatory surgery centers can offer patients efficient, cost-effective and convenient care. Economics, improvements in surgical techniques and the expanding population of older patients all contribute to the exponential growth of ASCs.

However, without proper oversight, patient selection criteria and appropriate safety protocols, ASCs can be vulnerable to errors that can lead to patient injury and malpractice claims.

This presentation will discuss the most common malpractice risks associated with ASCs and offer risk management strategies that can be used to reduce the risk of patient injury, mitigate professional liability exposure and, in the event of litigation, contribute to a strong defense.
