New CMS quality contract: What’s next and the link to the quality reporting and pay-for-performance

August 19, 2020
Webinar

10 - 10:45 a.m.

Registration is open to HANYS Members Only

Description:

HANYS will provide an overview of current federal quality improvement activity, including the next iteration of the Partnership for Patients, the Hospital Quality Improvement Contract (HQIC) initiative. We will explore HQIC’s potential implications on pay-for-performance and CMS Star Ratings.

CMS has identified specific hospitals for HQIC programming recruitment based on hospital type (rural and critical access) and/or quality outcomes.

As part of the C2XSM program, HANYS is dedicated to continuing to support your hospital quality improvement efforts and related improved financial and reputational performance.

After eight years of the Partnership for Patients contract, CMS has made significant changes to the initiative for the next iteration and has identified specific hospitals for inclusion.

As a CMS Network of Quality Improvement and Innovation Contractor (NQIIC), during the Aug. 19 webinar HANYS will provide an overview of the current federal QI activity and planning, with specific emphasis on the HQIC program planned to begin Sept. 15.

HANYS’ quality staff will provide an overview of the HQIC initiative, background on CMS’ targeting of specific hospitals, program goals and objectives and implication for participating hospitals.

HANYS will discuss the distinct advantages of hospital participation in the HQIC and how to assimilate the initiative activities into current quality improvement work.

If you have questions regarding registration please contact Registration Support at learning@hanys.org or at (518) 431-7867.
