Domestic violence training for New York state hospitals

Oct. 28
Webinar

2:30 - 4 p.m.

This event is open to HANYS members only.

HANYS and GNYHA are collaborating with DOH and the Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence to offer an online training meant to assist hospitals with compliance with Public Health Law 2805-z, which went into effect on Dec. 23, 2020 (see “Dear Administrator Letter” released on Aug. 11, 2021). This training is geared toward all nursing, medical, social work and other clinical personnel, and security personnel working in hospital service units.

The purpose of this training will be to help hospitals meet training requirements for their staff on domestic violence. Training content will be provided by OPDV, covering how to identify and treat patients who are victims of domestic violence. A recording of this training will be posted on the HANYS and GNYHA websites for those who are unable to attend the live session.
