HANYS’ FY 2027 state budget testimony
HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD, testified that the state must act this year to address the acute-on-chronic crisis facing hospitals and health systems. Read her testimony on our website.
State legislative activity
This week the following were signed into law:
- Medical Aid in Dying (Chapter 714 of the Laws of 2025)
- Medical Aid in Dying chapter amendment (Chapter 1 of the Laws of 2026)

This week, HANYS submitted comments to OMB on enrollment and re-certification of entities in 340B.

HANYS awarded two-year renewal for Care Connections program
With generous support from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, HANYS will extend its Care Connections program through Dec. 31, 2027. This renewal helps HANYS facilitate hospital-community partnerships to deliver chronic disease prevention and management services. More details on 2026 programming, including recruitment, stipend programs and registration for the upcoming virtual learning series will be announced soon.
